The terrarium is lovely --- Mother Nature never fails to amaze me :) . Is the greenery a growing plant, and the branch a found item which had washed up on the beach? Or is the branch from an intertidal zone? (Asks the landlubber...)
They're moss- and lichen-laden twigs from a neighborhood tree -- snapped off in a wind/rain storm. And the greenery in the bottom is just more moss and lichen gathered from the ground. But the branches do look rather under-sea-ish, don't they? Mother Nature is lovely and surprising, indeed.
Oh my, I had completely pegged the branches as (somehow or another!) having coral growing on them! I should get out more --- clearly I'm not much of a landlubber either ;) .
I so want to come visit your home. Just so I can see all the lovelies in person. Those eggs. I feel like such a slacker mom because I got nothing out for Easter. I didn't even do baskets. I bought a plastic box of cookies from Fred Meyer and called it good. Maybe if I had such lovely eggs? Nah, probably not. I will just have to live vicariously through your photos.
Aw, thanks Rita! Well the truth is we only managed to get the Easter decorations out the weekend before, and my daughter had to badger me a couple times to get it done. :-) I did manage to hide some eggs with a few bits of chocolate around the house (it was a rainy Sunday here) but no elaborate baskets here either.

DeleteJust lovely! I'm a big fan of moss and lichen -- collecting the windfall and arranging it in a glass bowl is brilliant. . .
ReplyDeleteThanks, Frances. And the nice thing is, we can release these things "back into the wild" after we have enjoyed them for a bit.
